ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The former National Guard Armory building in Falls City, Nebraska became the site for this addition and renovation.  The site gained 4,620 square feet to the south of the existing building.  Along with renovation to the standing armory building, this site became the county’s law enforcement center and Sheriff’s Department offices.  This replaced the previous facilities located at the county courthouse.

The new facility has 24 beds surrounding a central control station in a configuration that allows for 7 classifications of inmates.  A vehicular sallyport, booking area, medical exam room, exercise room and master control/dispatch room are included.  The exterior walls of the new building are precast concrete with brick veneer.  Structural steel and load bearing masonry walls support the hollowcore concrete roof structure that is finished with an EPDM roof.  Holding cells are prefabricated units.
