The City of Sabetha, Kansas voted to proceed on construction of a new outdoor aquatic center to replace the old swimming pool in the same location. Construction was to be complete in time for the 2017 swimming season.
The pool has 328,820 gallon capacity and 8,445 square foot of surface area. The pool area includes: a 6-lane, 25 meter competition pool; 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards; 46′ family slide, 176′ open flume slide; zero depth entry into a dedicated toddler area; shallow depth pool with bubble slide; benches and tables for lunch area; sunshade structures; perimeter fencing; night lighting; and a pool heater.
The bathhouse is a CMU building with a wood truss and shingled roof. It includes men’s, women’s, and family restrooms/showers, concessions, lifeguard room, an office, and storage and mechanical rooms. The filter room is a seperate building of similar construction.
