The original Health Department building was damaged by a heavy weather storm which was then determined to be non-repairable. The new building is a 72′ x 96′ pre-engineered metal building with a brick perimeter containing aluminum windows and storefront. The building has a single slope roof with framed parapet walls on three sides. The building has an internal storm shelter/safe room. The interior also consists of offices, exam rooms, a lab room, conference room, reception area, restrooms, storage rooms, and a staff work/break room. The climate control is provided by three forced air furnaces with A/C. Electrical back-up is provided by a natural gas fueled generator. There are new concrete sidewalks on all sides of the building and a small parking area, with HDCP parking, on the west side of the building.
