The City of Sabetha, Kansas voted to proceed on construction of a new outdoor aquatic center to replace the old swimming pool in the same location. Construction to be complete in time for the opening of the 2017 swimming season.  The pool has a 328,820 gallon capacity and 8,445 SF of surface area. The pool area includes: a 6-lane, 25 meter competition pool; 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards; 46' family slide; 176' open flume slide; zero depth entry into a dedicated toddler area; shallow depth pool w/bubble slide; benches & tables for a lunch area; sunshade structures; perimeter fencing; night lighting; and a pool heater. The bathhouse is a CMU building with a wood truss and shingled roof. It includes men's, women's and family restrooms/shower rooms, concessions, lifeguard room, an office, storage and mechanical rooms. The filter room is a separate building of similar construction.

Description
This project adds 4,620 SF to the south side of the former National Guard Armory building in Falls City, Nebraska. Along with renovation fo the existing building, it becomes the county's law enforcement center and Sheriff's Department offices to replace the current facilities located at the county courthouse. The new facility has 24 beds surrounding a central control station in a configuration that allows for 7 classifications of inmates. A vehicular sallyport, booking area, medical exam room, exercise room and master control/dispatch are included. The exterior walls of the new building are precast concrete with brick veneer. Structural steel and load bearing masonry walls support the hollowcore concrete roof structure that is finished with an EPDM roof. Holding cells are prefabricated units.

Description
Due to a lack of room, security and safety issues, antiquated plumbing and an outdated design at the existing 1978 jail facility, Nemaha County decided to proceed with building a new facility attached to the County Courthouse and to the west side of the existing jail facility. The new addition contains 15 cells separated into five pods. This pod style allows for increased security by separating inmates according to severity level. Additionally, the jail addition includes a control room; booking area; large work release cell; small cells for special purposes, such as a padded cell and a holding cell; a medical exam area; multiple visitation rooms; a separate kitchen, laundry and staff break room; and an office for the county attorney, among other spaces.

The existing facilities will be demolished with the new facilities in the same location. Construction to start after the pool is closed for the 2013 season and be complete in time for the opening of the 2014 swimming season. The pool has a 282,551 gallon capacity and 9,936 SF of surface area. The pool area includes; a 7-lane, 25 meter competition pool; a diving well with 2 diving boards; a 60' and 200' slide into the plunge area; zero depth entry into a dedicated toddler area and a shallow depth pool; benches & tables for a lunch area; sunshade structures; perimeter fencing; night lighting; and a pool heater. The bathhouse is a CMU building with a wood truss and shingled roof. It includes men's, women's and family restrooms/shower rooms, concessions, first aid station, an office, storage and mechanical rooms. A new parking lot is added across the street from the pool.

This project adds an 80' x 100' maintenance shop addition to the east side of the existing shop building. The new building will utilize wood framing and truss construction. The roof wood trusses will extend over the existing shop building and will be enclosed with a metal roof panel system. Also, the existing facility's exterior walls will be covered with rigid insulation and metal wall panels to match the new addition, and will be supported by new wood furring. The shop addition will add 7 new bays to the current facility where more equipment can be stored and serviced. The City of Seneca crews are very excited for the new addition as additional space was desperately needed.

Description
The office building construction included, exposed architectural concrete walls, precast concrete floor system, a combination of exposed structural steel and wood trusses, structural insulated roof panels, and stained concrete floors to create an aesthetically pleasing, durable, yet comfortable work environment. The mechanical systems include state of the art Geo-thermal ground source heat pump systems, which create an efficient HVAC system for the owner. The owner is extremely proud of this facility. The vehicle maintenance building included such work as concrete foundations, exposed architectural concrete walls, precast concrete floor system, pre-engineered metal building with an abundance of sidewall glass and skylights, top running bridge cranes, and an automatic truck wash. This building includes numerous special systems to make it an extremely efficient maintenance facility.

The interior includes large open display areas, brightly colored finishes in the children’s display area. The use of wood veneer ceilings and wall panels give the building a warm atmosphere.
