Description
Phase 1 consists of the masonry restoration, including replacement of 100% of the water-table stone, and approximately 50% of the foundation stone below. Masonry restoration work also includes brick replacement and tuck pointing on the upper part of the bell tower. At the same time, wooden louvers on all 4 sides of the bell tower are being replaced with new aluminum louvers, which match the details of the existing wood louvers. Also at this time, the copper roofing fasteners are being replaced, as are the 4 corner spires that have been damaged by storms. All work is being completed while protecting the historic integrity of the 120 year old building.   Phase 2 includes the addition of a 1,440 square foot addition to the front of the existing building, which will house a classroom, restroom and bride's room in the basement, as well as a gathering room, restroom and vesting sacristy on the ground floor. The addition will be constructed with concrete basement foundation, precast concrete flex core beams with concrete cap for the ground floor, metal stud framed walls, wood trusses and composition shingle roof. The detailed brick and limestone exterior will match well with the existing building. The project also includes new HVAC systems in the back of the existing church, which will allow the interior restoration work to be complete by the owner, to further restore the interior of the building to its original luster.
